Safe checks to try (no data risk)
Use a known-good cable and a rear port (on a desktop). Faulty cables are the #1 cause.
Rule out a driver or port issue by connecting to a different PC or Mac.
If the drive appears there (even as RAW), the drive is likely fine — a logical or bridge issue.
If it spins up silently and just isn't mounting, it's likely the enclosure. Clicking or no-spin = the drive.
